Bio

The passion for art – my communication and expression – has accompanied me all my life. My approach to art is mainly self-taught. From the beginning, I have used every opportunity to practice my drawing “craft” and to develop my understanding of art based on great paintings, for example, in museums, exhibitions, reviews, and books. This process is alive and still going on.

These are the cornerstones of my artistic work so far:

Since 2018:

  • Member of the international artist association ABUN – Artists and Biologists united for nature.

2019:

  • Guest student of the courses
    • “Drawing Nature, Science, and Culture” at the University of Newcastle/Australia and.
    • “European Paintings: From Leonardo to Goya” at the University Carlos III/Madrid.
  • Art Auction South Africa for the benefit of Baby Rhino Rescue – participation with 4 paintings (sold)

Since 2020:

  • Independent freelance artist
  • Represented (one painting) in the IUCN Otter Calendar for 2021
  • Participation in the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize 2021

2021:

  • Guest student of the courses
    • Sexing the Canvas: Art and Gender at the University of Melbourne
    • The Modern and the Postmodern (Part 1) at the¬†Wesleyan University

    • Portrait course at the Barcelona Academy of Art
  • “Spring for the Dells” art show followed by auction to benefit the Granite Dells Preservation Foundation – participating with 3 paintings (scheduled).

My paintings hang in private collections in Europe, America, Australia, and South Africa.
