Cave Paintings

In 2019, British and Colombian archaeologists discovered tens of thousands of Ice Age cave paintings. The paintings stretch for almost thirteen kilometres along a hillside in the Serranía de Chiribiquete National Natural Park.

Inspired by early Colombian painting and informed by older knowledge of the rich motifs, themes, forms and colours of European cave paintings, I have created this small series in response to the discovery of Chiribiquete.
